Books for a better mindfulness life - primal now

Best books for self-devleopment, mindfulness, leadership, and relationship success

Feel good books only work as a short-term relief from the negativity in our psyches. These books will open your heart for self-development, better relationships, mindfulness, and a better life.

These books will open your whole existence to a greater consciousness. They will make you aware of your being. They will free you from the darkness of your psyche, and limitations of your tethered soul.

Google shows you a never-ending list of blog posts, if you search for “best books self-development relationships”, “books that changed my life” or “self-improvement books”. I too have gone through these lists many times, looking to better myself. I read The Secret, and The Alchemist, when they first came out, and it felt like a revolution. They are probably some of the most read self-improvement books in the world, but their effects are temporary. I kept falling back into the trap of life, ego, insecurities, anger, hatred, fear, resentment, and other such emotions. Until I came across a completely different set of books.

I now realize, that books like The Secret, and The Alchemist, could not have a sustained effect on me because my soul was not ready for them. They’re not the fundamental texts for self-improvement. I had this epiphany after I read the following books, back to back, in a short span of one week. I just couldn’t put them down. Every page transformed my whole existence. It was like my heart, and soul was opening up to bigger truths.

I wish I had read these books in my younger years. Maybe, I would not have had so many failed relationships. Friends that I’ve lost. Opportunities I’ve missed. If I had read these books first, then books like The Secret, The Alchemist, and The Valkyries, would have really worked for me. I would have taken advantage from their teachings. But I had been functioning at a fraction of my full capability. My machine was really inefficient. I was making 100% effort, and getting 10% result, because my spirit was trapped in the gallows of my dark energies

Most lists of best personal development books, direct you to read about startups, karma, positive thinking, leadership, power, organization, etc. I read them all too, but nothing really worked. I now know that it was because my heart was polluted, by the poisonous prejudices of my upbringing, the society, and the negativity of this world. Until your fundamentals are strong, and your spirit is free, you can’t have the clarity of vision to learn anything else.

I urge everyone to read the following books, and encourage others to read them as well. In particular young people. People who are beginning their life journeys. People going into relationships. People starting their careers. Everyone should read these books.

Please let us have more book recommendations, in the comments.

Be Impeccable with your Word, Don’t Take Anything Personally, Don’t Make Assumptions, Always Do Your Best. Miguel Ruiz calls these “The Four Agreements”. Even though, first thought would be – what’s the big deal? As obvious as these four agreements are, they’re probably the most ignored fundamentals of modern life. We are not impeccable with what we say, we take everything personally, we assume a whole web of emotions and stories in our mind, and we do not give everything our best. This book says nothing new. The message has been repeated over and over again, yet ignored every time. This is a short, 168-page, book, that can transform your life, in just a few hours. If you live in a past dream, you don’t enjoy what is happening right now because you will always wish it to be different than it is. There is no time to miss anyone or anything because you are alive. Not enjoying what is happening right now is living in the past and being only half alive. This leads to self pity, suffering and tears.

There is a huge amount of freedom that comes to you when you take nothing personally.

True justice is paying only once for each mistake. True injustice is paying more than once for each mistake.

Whenever we hear an opinion and believe it, we make an agreement, and it becomes part of our belief system.

Humans punish themselves endlessly for not being what they believe they should be. They become very self-abusive, and they use other people to abuse themselves as well.

Ninety-five percent of the beliefs we have stored in our minds are nothing but lies, and we suffer because we believe all these lies.

We judge others according to our image of perfection as well, and naturally they fall short of our expectations.

People are strange, when you’re a stranger. Everything falls apart, when your relationships fall apart. This book will help you build better relationships. You can read all the self-help, and enabling books in the world, attend Tony Robbins lectures, and learn from Deepak Chopra, but nothing works when you’re in unhappy relationships. This book by Miguel Ruiz will help you fall in love, in its truest sense. To love unconditionally.

We torture ourselves, and those we love, because we are living with dark poisonous parasites of ego, and expectations. Ideas that have been embedded in our psyche through upbringing, media, education, religion, and other dark forces. This book will help free your heart, and thus your love. We are all capable of true love, if we can break free from the darkness within us.

This is not one of the best-written books, but its 210 pages that could save your relationships, at home, work, and on the street. Click here to read “The Mastery of Love”.

Nothing that your partner does is personal. Your partner is dealing with her own garbage. If you don’t take it personally, it will be so easy for you to have a wonderful relationship with your partner.

We were born in this society, we grew up in this society. And we learn to be like everyone else, playing nonsense all the time.

They are living in the moment. They are not ashamed of the past; they are not worried about the future. Little children express what they feel, and they are not afraid to love.

When our parents are constantly fighting, when there is disharmony, disrespect, and lies, we learn the emotional way of being like them. Even if they tell us not to be that way.

All of our drama and suffering is by practice.

We practice and practice, and we master how to be what we are not.

After you’ve adopted the four agreements, and tamed your relationships, it is time for self-realization. To ask the question “Who are you?”. Once you start answering this elusive question, you realize you’ve been focusing on a useless existence. A world of unconsciousness. This book will take you on a journey of awakening, and consciousness.

I know I’m using cliched words, and the usual BS, you read about such books, but if you want to become truly free – read this book. If you want to free yourself from negative energies, from the darkness of the past, present, and the future, you need to untether your soul.

This book will help you realize yourself, and conquer the inner dialogue – the noise in your head. It will then help you understand, and control, the energies that constantly flow throw us. To open our hearts to the positive and empowering energies. Then we learn to open ourselves to the rest of the world, without letting it hurt us. And once we are armed with this power, Michael Singer helps us achieve unconditional happiness in our daily lives, regardless of the circumstances, and people that surround us. There is nothing more important to true growth than realizing that you are not the voice of the mind – you are the one who hears it.

There is nothing more important to true growth than realizing that you are not the voice of the mind – you are the one who hears it.

Why shouldn’t you be happy? You gain nothing by being bothered by life’s events. It doesn’t change the world; you just suffer. There’s always going to be something that can bother you, if you let it.

Eventually you will see that the real cause of problem is not life itself. It’s the commotion the mind makes about life that really causes the problems.
Do not let anything that happens in life be important enough that you’re willing to close your heart over it.

People tend to burden themselves with so many choices. But, in the end, you can throw it all away and just make one basic, underlying decision: Do you want to be happy, or do you not want to be happy? It’s really that simple. Once you make that choice, your path through life becomes totally clear.

It’s actually a shocking realization when you first notice that your mind is constantly talking. You might even try to yell at it in a feeble attempt to shut it up. But then you realize that’s the voice yelling at the voice.

The truth is that most of life will unfold in accordance with forces far outside your control, regardless of what your mind says about it.

You will eventually get conscious enough so that the minute you see the energy start getting strange, you stop. You stop getting involved in the energy.

Eckhart Tolle is best known for his book “The Power Of Now”. But, in my opinion, his second book, A New Earth, is an even more important read. If you have to choose between the two, or decide which one to read first, then I recommend “A New Earth”. Tolle describes our ego, and the egoic mind, in great detail. The book explains how our egos have created the anger, jealousy, and unhappiness, that is responsible for the chaos and pain in the world today. He explains how to awaken to a new state of consciousness and become aware. If you are striving to live a better life, in a better world, then get to this book as soon as possible. The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.
What a liberation to realize that the “voice in my head” is not who I am. Who am I then? The one who sees that.
To recognize one’s own insanity is, of course, the arising of sanity, the beginning of healing and transcendence.
Every complaint is a little story the mind makes up that you completely believe in.
The pas has no power to stop you from being present now. Only your grievance about the past can do that.
What the future holds for you depends on your state of consciousness now.

People spend a lifetime waiting for the next best thing to happen, so that can start living their life. We drift through the present moment, either lost in the miseries of events passed, or fears of the things that may never happen in the future. We fail to cherish the moment. Eckhart Tolle’s book “The Power of Now“, enlightens use how to use the Now, to live a better life forever. Within the first chapter, the reader has a brand new perspective on life and existence. Even though I recommend this as a must read, you should consider reading it after the above books, in particular, “A New Earth“. They prepare you for what The Power of Now has to say. If you get the inside right, the outside will fall into place. Primary reality is within; secondary reality without.
It is not uncommon for people to spend their whole life waiting to start living.
Once you have identified with some form of negativity, you do not want to let it go, and on a deeply unconscious level, you do not want positive change. It would threaten your identity as a depressed, angry or hard-done by person. You will then ignore, deny or sabotage the positive in your life. This is a common phenomenon. It is also insane.
Accept — then act. Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it. Always work with it, not against it. Make it your friend and ally, not your enemy. This will miraculously transform your whole life.
Humans have learned to split the atom. Instead of killing ten or twenty people with a wooden club, one person can now kill a million just by pushing a button. Is that real change?
